Undoubtedly breastfeeding is the best way to feed your child as the mothers milk is healthy and contains appropriate quantity of nutrition required for a Childs growth. But many a times it is not possible for a mother to breast feed his child due to different reasons and in such cases a child needs bottle feeding. If a mother is taking some type of medicine which is harmful for the child she cannot breast feed the child. In many cases there is a nervous shock to the mother which stops the milk production and thus bottle feeding remains the option. For the working mothers bottle feeding also becomes a necessary option. Thus whatever may be the reasons that lead to bottle feeding due care should be taken while giving the formula milk to your child.
Precautions while bottle feeding:

Various precautions should be adhered while giving bottle feed to your child.
• First of all the bottles should be checked for their expiry date so that it does not cause any harm to the child.
• Sterilizing and cleaning the bottles properly after every use is very necessary to make sure that the bottles do not contain any germs and harmful bacteria.
• Babies should be avoided to feed during their sleep as it leads to problem of tooth decay.
• Positioning is also very important while bottle feeding and a child should be positioned semi upright before bottle feeding.
• Never use the leftover milk and always wash off immediately as it can lead to bacteria breeding.

Nipple of bottle should be cared properly:
While feeding your baby through bottle the care of the nipples should be done properly. The hole of in the nipple should be of appropriate size so that a child is comfortable taking the milk. A hole which is too big or even too small poses a problem for the child. Sterilize the nipple after every use and replace them when ever needed.
Advantages of bottle feeding:
Although breast feeding is the best way of feeding your child but there are also advantages of bottle feeding.
First of all bottle feeding leads to the knowledge of milk required by a child and also let the mother knows the exact nutrition going to the child. Moreover bottle feeding can be done by anyone present at home and not necessarily the mother. And in public places when breast feeding becomes an embarrassing situation bottle feeding comes to the rescue.

Thus bottle feeding can also be advantageous for your child but due care and precautions should be taken.
