It is always been the prime concern of mothers to give their baby best nutritional foods. For your convenience, based on various medical advices; we framed a chart of baby foods that have to be supplied at the appropriate age. It is for your benefit that these listings and recommendations are put forth.

Thumb rule of the chart is not to force the baby the quantities mentioned but to give it the right food at the right time. Here is the chart for your thought:

Zero – four months: First four months breast milk or formula would be the best and prime form of nutrition for the baby. There are few who try to introduce solids in early months but its proposed to start solids from fourth month. The baby should have 60-90 ml of breast milk or formula every 2-4 hours. Sever allergic reactions are caused if breast milk or formula is replaced by normal milk.


Four – six months: Decision as in when to start solids for the baby would be recommended by the pediatrician. Feeding of solids involve many conditions like: height, weight, sleeping routine and teething of the baby. Rice and oat based cereals are best recommended as the starting solid food. Once the baby is ready to have solids, you can add on pureed fruits and vegetables also.


Six – eight months: Ripe to introduce few more solid foods, but be careful that the child is infected with allergies. Just about 8 months, start letting in yoghurt to the baby’s diet chart. Cereals like rice and oat can yet be part of the diet.

Eight – ten months: At this stage baby should be attaining around 14g per day which indicates conventional food patterns and digestion. New foods like: breads, biscuits, melons can be given not leaving rice, barley and oat cereals.

Ten – twelve months: By this time baby should have got accustomed to the foods it’s fed. During this stage apart from the above given cereals and fruits, other nutrients can be added.

Following this chart to an extent can make you and the baby to fall into a routine and good eating style.
